DESIGN INSTITUTE OF AUSTRALIA GRADUATE OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Graduate of the Year Awards (GOTYA) is the Design Institute of Australia flagship program for emerging designers, created to support and celebrate exceptional Australian designers as they embark on their careers. This program is instrumental in providing tertiary institutions and design graduates with vital, real-life feedback from experienced designers and industry figures.

Tertiary institutions are invited to nominate their top graduates across various design disciplines. Nominee portfolios are anonymously evaluated on their design excellence based on a transparent judging process and criteria. Finalists are interviewed by a panel of judges to determine their transferable workplace skills and predicted impact on the Australian design industry.

Australian tertiary institutes that are registered training organisations or registered higher education providers are invited to each nominate up to 6 graduates per category per state. Nominations are open to graduates who have completed their formal studies in 2021 in a full time or full-time equivalent undergraduate and honours tertiary course.
